APPLICATION

Jesus lived an example of patience for us through His life as a servant, through His meekness. Patience requires considering others first, bearing with their faults, being kind and gentle, laying down our lives for others. Be encouraged! Your life IS now hidden with Christ in God. Sweep the wickedness from your life, remembering His grace and forgiveness extended to you, Build your life upon the Cornerstone of your faith, the precious Stone you have found, Trust in Him even when His ways appear hidden from you. Petition God to equip you to live a life of patience. Pray at all times in the Spirit.

Servanthood Evidence of Change

APPLICATION

Have you noticed that every time you consider serving God, a war begins to rage? The war can be caused by your own pride or can be a result of persecution from others. Circumstances can also make it harder to live in servant hood, as God has called you to do.

How it confuses the world to hear of a righteous King who came to save and to serve those who were His enemies because of His love for them! Our response to this love results in changed lives as we, now His children, are transformed into the likeness of the King. Servanthood becomes the evidence of this change. The King’s children become servants not because they have to, but because they want to!

Hide in the Safety

Avoid Godless Chatter Hide

We begin to surrender our wills to God when we come to the understanding that everything in heaven and on earth, in our lives and in our minds, cannot be hidden from God. Once we surrender every area of our lives to Him we are able to hide in the safety of His presence, where our loving Creator wants us to be.Some situations call us to hide. Although seen as threatening to some, Jesus was so unthreatening to most that He was able to hide in a crowd. Don’t, however, hide from others the work God is doing in your life. Your testimony is a mighty tool in the hand of God to bring others to Him. It will also keep the enemy away from you.Shine your light brightly into the darkness and it will flee.

Crossover from Death to Life

CROSSOVER

crossover

The Israelites crossed the Red Sea through the waters of baptism and received their freedom. With Joshua they crossed the Jordan River into the land that was promised to them by God. As believers we have crossed over from death to eternal life.Even after crossing, the battles continued for the Israelites and continue for us today. Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power as you fight the good fight of the faith, waiting for Jesus’ sure return.

In The Spirit

IN THE SPIRIT

Our flesh constantly cries out, “I want, I want!” or “Me, Me!” To approach God and to do His work we must be absent from our fleshly desires. God is Spirit and He requires that we approach Him in the Spirit, leaving behind our literal body and spiritual flesh when seeking His face. Be alert! The enemy will attempt to use your sinful nature, or flesh, against you as you pursue righteousness. Remember these Scriptures when trying to make decisions, doing God’s work, or seeking a closer relationship with your Lord and others.

As The Least

   AS THE LEAST

AS THE LEAST

Who is “as the least”? Do you walk out of your way to avoid a homeless person? Do you shake your head at those who dress and act differently than you? Do you treat physically or mentally disadvantaged people with respect – or do you avoid them? Would you go out of your way to help those whom society considers not worthy of help? God did. Even though Jesus had all the power of the universe flowing through His veins, He chose to be one of us, to be as the least of us. How God uses the weak and foolish things of this world to confound the wise!

God alone is worthy of glory! And yet He considers us precious in His sight. All of us, from the least to the greatest, have great worth in God’s sight, for we bear His image, marred as that image may be. What great love He has for us! Show this love to others, that they may see God through us.

If you notice the person that always sits alone, reach out to them. The person that is rude and always pushing people away, show them the love of Jesus. Reach out to the child that is always last in line, take them to the front. Jesus is always looking for those who are treated as the least.

Avoid Godless Chatter

Avoid Godless Chatter

AVOID GODLESS CHATTER

A course joke, a slanted comment, or simply talking about the weather and sports as your daily diet for conversation can lead you away from God. The enemy earnestly desires to get your mind off of God, in order to render you unfruitful and to keep you from maturing in Christ. Check all thoughts and conversations, bringing them to Christ for His approval. For just as Godless chatter can lead you away from Him, Godly conversation will draw you and others closer to Him.

Be transformed by renewing your mind through reading, memorizing, and meditating on God’s Word. Build up one another; encourage! Praise and worship together, drawing each other closer to God.

THE CROSS

Has someone you know or a complete stranger done something to help or, bless you? At the time, these individuals stand out in our minds. But little by little, as time goes by, we tend to forget how important this act of kindness was to us. Take time every morning and throughout your day to remember all that occurred before, during, and after our Lord’s death on the cross. For you will be drawn closer to Him, living in an attitude of gratitude leading to worship and praise, living in the Spirit all through your day. The enemy won’t have a chance to diminish in your memory this gracious and loving sacrifice because you will be worshipping in the presence of your King, ever mindful of this great gift.

Spiritual Desire

spiritual desire

I believe that our spiritual desire to know God better is one of His greatest joys. How He desires to make Himself known to us! The Lord has revealed Himself in His Word and made His Word available to us. Jesus has sealed us as His own, placing in us the Holy Spirit who guides us into all truth.

All creation proclaims His glory. The enemy diligently works to diminish your desire to know God. Through accusations and lies he tries to convince you that God does not desire a relationship with you, that you are not worthy. Let the goodness and love of your Savior continue to draw you to a deeper love relationship with your heavenly Father. Guard this relationship carefully, nourish it, and let it grow!

The Lie of Coveting

[Gal 5:1 NIV] It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery.
[Pro 4:14 NIV] Do not set foot on the path of the wicked or walk in the way of evildoers.
[Pro 4:15 NIV] Avoid it, do not travel on it; turn from it and go on your way.
[1Th 5:16 NIV] Rejoice always,
[1Th 5:17 NIV] pray continually,
[1Th 5:18 NIV] give thanks in all circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.
NIV] Consequently, you are no longer foreigners and strangers, but fellow citizens with God’s people and also members of his household,
[Eph 2:20 NIV] built on the foundation of the apostles and prophets, with Christ Jesus himself as the chief cornerstone.
[2Co 10:5 NIV] We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ.

The bondage of coveting is subtle and powerful. It accuses our Father in Heaven, instills in me a feeling of lack in my life and separates me from others. Life seems boring and dull with the false hope that fulfillment is right in front of me if I only had what that other person has. It is a lie from the beginning that needs to be exposed and dealt with.

I find the lie within my mind and take it captive. I don’t let it go into my heart. Then I replace the thought with the truth of the Freedom that Christ has set me free. I begin to pray and rejoice giving thanks walking in God’s will for me in Christ Jesus. I surround myself with the other citizens of heaven yielding to the Chief Cornerstone, Christ Jesus my love. Then I  persevere in my love for Him who has saved me until the lie is obedient to the truth.          The Lie of Coveting
